Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
Your playing small does not serve the world
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were all meant to shine, as children do.
It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

Ways to Make Money While Eating Beef

Jason and I went to eat steak tonight. It was an interesting night. The first thing was that our waiter looked, talked, and acted like B*nYu. It was very strange. But, his name was Gary.

Anyhow, I ordered a filet mignon. It was $17.99. I ate about half of my beef (super yum) and asked our waiter to pack up the rest. About 5 minutes later, the manager comes by to tell me that my leftovers got dropped, so he gave me two choices: 1) He could have the kitchen grill up a kid's portion sirloin steak or 2) He could "give me something for later." Thinking it over, I decided that my leftover filet mignon was worth more than an $8 kid's sirloin. So, I asked for the "something later." The manager walked away.

Gary returned and apologized for dropping my leftovers. I wasn't even bothered by the fact that my leftovers didn't make it back to the table. I don't think I could've eaten more steak as leftovers anyway. He offered free dessert, but Jason and I were pretty full. So we passed on that.

The manager returned after we paid and gave me a $20 gift certificate. $20!? That's more than my whole meal! And I got to eat! I was expecting like $10. Not bad. Anybody want to eat steak with me in July sometime??? I've also been told that this restaurant has the best Sam Adams on tap.

Some people said that it was time to change the picture that was at the top of my blog. So, I've changed it. Enjoy.

Happy. Here's to more hangouts!

Me with Allen's friends. Who I consider friends now. Me, Long, Mel, Gene. Fun people to party with.

I made new friends. Me, Allen, Mel, Long. After wandering through the streets of SF, we drank a lot of coke, ate the world's best pizza, saw Jen and and her friends (sorry, no hapa girls). It was great getting our groove on and all dressing alike.

Our graduation dinner. Pimp Erick with me, Jen, Maria, and Nina. Hot stuff. The ladies that is. =)

Graduation!! What a wonderfully happy day. The ceremony was super stuffy and formal. No pomp and circumstance. No cheering for people. I can't believe that a year just came and went! madness.

Cruisin' in the Baltimore Inner Harbor on the last day of classes. We got jiggy to random Turkish music that only the dj danced to, but still an awesome way to close out a crazy year!

Richness (warning: gushing ahead)

I'm experiencing a richness and fullness of community that I've missed. Thanks to the beautiful ladies at the duplex for hosting a super-fun, super-yum, super-friends welcome home bbq. Great meat, great friends, great booz, great times.

I also love being unemployed. Yes, it's only been 2 weeks. And I know that it will get old and boring. But, until it does...I've just been running around spending evenings with friends and jason, spending days with my sister, watching Dawson's Creek every morning, exercising, and just being here.

I am happy. I'm happy from chilling with my sister who is a riot. I will miss her so much when she leaves this weekend!! I'm happy because folks like Jason and Sam will drive down all the way from Alameda just to hang out. I'm happy because I get to spend time with my pops. I'm happy because my best friend and I get to sit around, talk about nothing and everything in the middle of the afternoon in our pj's, reading grocery store ads, and eating cold chicken. I'm happy because I get to go swimming, lie out in the sun, and watch basketball with one of my favorite buddies.Seeing all the girls, being with bev and janet, reconnecting with people i've lost touch with, getting to know new people like the Friday Night Krew. I love being with people. It is deeply satisfying.

Now, if only Joey were here. She's in Texas right now, on a truck, on a long journey back from Maryland. =( I miss her. I'm sure all my friends miss her too, since I've been bumming rides and borrowing cars.

Ok, off to look for things to do in Hawaii! Yay! I love summer. I love California. I love being home!

End gushing here.

California is beautiful. Speaking of beautiful things, check this out! If you weren't a tree-hugger before, this will make you want to be one. Amazing photos (and having your sound on will enhance the experience too).

Anyone wanna go to Muir Woods with me sometime soon? I'm feeling a desire to sit among trees. I love trees. I think I've always loved trees. Something about their grace and strength all wrapped up together. I had a favorite tree in Baltimore. I realize now that I never took a picture of it! Ok, it's 2am. I really just wanted to post the link. Nothing too profound to say....

Greetings from the other side!

More updates and pics to come as soon as I recover from the circus of the past few weeks...or the past year for that matter.
