Best brunch in....a long time.

Jason and I went to brunch on Sunday at Country Gourmet. I had the best food. I had one of the specials, the Banana French Toast Combo.

Two slices of really yummy french toast made with thickly sliced challah bread. (thick=the thickness of 2 slices of normal bread). Topped with a caramel syrup, sliced almonds, and a grilled banana. Served with a side of honey rum butter. SOOOOOO good. And suprisingly, not terribly sweet. I could still taste the challah bread amid the millions of flavors in my mouth that all melded so perfectly.

Served with 2 eggs, my way (over hard). And a cup of mixed fruit (with strawberries that were oh so sweet).

Top it off with a bottomless cup of hazelnut coffee, and the best breakfast buddy ever.

mmm....

post script: It's amazing how when I'm productive over the weekend, and I feel like my life is in order, Monday mornings are really quite manageable. I did SO MUCH this weekend. House work (LOTS of it), car fixing stuff, exercise, time with friends and roommates, reading. But it wasn't the exhausting fun. I still slept 9-10 hours each night. Our house looks and feels like we live there now.
